Organic Assam Black Tea by Mana Organics

I haven’t bought from this tea company before, but it seems to have a social conscience. Mana Organics isn’t just focused on producing organic tea and selling it, but instead takes a more holistic approach to getting the products from farmers to customers. They focus on community development and sustainable farming in rural areas, then help the farmers get products out to the world by doing marketing and retail work. So I’m really excited about this company and I’m planning to do more research and potentially start sourcing some of my tea from here. But on to the review! I steeped this tea Read More

The Bold Scotsman from Tupelo Honey Teas

The Bold Scotsman from Tupelo Honey Teas is said to pay homage to The Outlander Series Books and Characters.  I have to admit I haven’t read them but I will tell you what I think about this tea. It’s not the smokiest of smoky teas but there is still a bit of smoke, indeed!  I’m assuming that the smokiness of the Lapsand Souchong was knocked down a bit by the addition of the Assam, Kenyan, and Keemun or maybe it was just because of the ratios used by each of the 4 black tea bases.  What ever the case this Read More

Leatherbound from August Uncommon Tea

Tea Information: Leaf Type:  Black Where to Buy: August Uncommon Tea Tea Description: Dark wooden walls shoulder the weight of endless rows of well-loved books. The brooding tannins and rich, buttery aroma of this tea mimic the inviting yet austere atmosphere of an old library. Hints of cocoa and sweet almond enliven the mix like the occasional contemporary novel whose glossy cover puts the leatherbound classics into relief. A drop of milk tips the flavor towards a dark creamy stout. Like sinking into a crackled leather club chair to ponder the pages between your hands. Learn more about this tea here.  Taster’s Read More
