Blended with two rich and chocolaty black teas and the irresistible cherry-chocolate notes of top-grade Tahitian vanilla beans, Cocoa Amore is pure decadence. The aroma of the dry and wet leaf is pure cherry chocolate with a hint of malt. The flavor is unimaginably smooth with creamy melting chocolate and rich vanilla fudge. An ever-present cherry note stands out in front of the warm barley sugar background. Light mineral notes play through the sip along with a light hint of sweet cinnamon and a malty finish. Later infusions are just as creamy and rich, eventually presenting a beautiful powdery mouthfeel reminiscent of cocoa powder.
I am so excited to try this tea since it’s been on my wishlist for ages. This tea is quite expensive so I’m really hoping that the cherry and chocolate flavors come through and that it’s just as delicious everyone says it is.
The scent of this tea is certainly malty with a strong vanilla note and a touch of rich chocolate. I’m so impatient that I might just burn my tongue! The start of the sip is weirdly fruity.. and not something that I’d necessarily pin as cherry. The more that I think about it, the more I think I really do taste cherry, but with a strong floral touch. It reminds me of a fruity perfume. I really like that this cherry flavor doesn’t come across as artificial, but bright and natural. The cherry fades into strong vanilla and chocolate flavor that reminds me of fudge. What’s amazing is that sipping this tea makes me feel like I’ve eaten a piece of dark chocolate with a sliced cherry center. It’s so good that you want to keep sipping! I will say that you have to sort of look for these flavors and that they are a bit on the soft side.
Before I know it, the cup is empty and I’m left a little bit confused. While I did enjoy the chocolate and cherry, I’m not sure that the cup as a whole was what I wanted it to be.. the notes were too light for me. I’m not sure if I would buy more of this tea simply because it’s so expensive. I wouldn’t pass up a cup, but I certainly can’t afford to have this as a regular pick in my cupboard.

Amore’ from The Persimmon Tree is a beautiful tea to look at and I find it to be so soothing, relaxing, and just calming. I always have a cup of tea beside me on the table when I fall asleep at night, even if I don’t finish it, I just like to know a cup is there. This tea will be a perfect bedside companion!
Delicate big white tea leaves that look all fluffy like clouds or a big squishy pillow, pretty roses, the soothing, breathe easy aroma of mint, what more could one ask for at night?
I have found that I do not love mint teas the way that I once did, yet my love for floral teas has developed more. I still like mint, but I appreciate the floral aspect of this tea more so than the mint aspect that I used to love. I feel the balance in this tea airs a bit more on the mint side but the floral does come through wonderfully as does the white base.
Everything about this tea tastes natural. I have done a lot of essential oil and herb blending in my days and I can say that I do not detect anything less than natural in this tea blend. Plus organic elements are used which I respect greatly!
I have taken some quotes from The Persimmon Tree’s “About Us” page located here and I could not agree more!
“Simply put, tea is one of life’s rewarding pleasures. It makes us feel better by giving us a relaxing escape from life’s hectic pace.”
“A cup of tea can wake you up in the morning, compliment your afternoon, or take you away to a restful place in the evening. The tea-brewing ritual is one that can be therapeutic, enjoyable, social, and even sacred.”
I could not agree more especially when it comes to this tea, being so soothing, relaxing, calming. I think I like this even more than a chamomile tea for bedtime although I swear I do taste chamomile in here.

I just love (me Amoré?) the aroma of this brewed liquor. The blending of roses and mint is not a scent combination I would have really thought of before but together the two create quite a delightful fragrance.
And an even more delightful flavor!
The flavor of this tea is on the delicate side, but that is to be expected when it comes to white tea. But even though the tea notes are soft, the peppermint and rose flavors are balanced so they do not overwhelm the delicious flavor of the white tea. It tastes light and fresh with a pleasant sweet note.
The mint with the white tea gives this cup a breathtaking quality! Very crisp – like a breath of fresh mountain air! It’s really quite beautiful to experience. It’s cool and clean to taste and even a little exhilarating, while the white tea smooths these notes out just enough to make this not only an invigorating tea, but a calming one as well.
And then there is the rose! What a magnificent flavor the rose adds to this cup. It is lightly sweet and floral and adds just the right feminine touch to this tea. Overall, this is a pleasant and mellow cup. Perfect for those quiet “me” moments! Me Amoré!
