Hummingbird from A Quarter To Tea. . . .

Sometimes when you try a tea for the first time you love it but part of the love comes from excitement over a tea being new and when you try it again, its just not as good. That is not the case with this tea. This tea is my latest obsession. Seriously, I think I am in love. I own over 350 teas and I keep reaching for this one, Hummingbird by A Quarter to Tea. I just can’t get enough of the banana, vanilla, and pecan praline awesomeness. I have had this a few times hot and I swear Read More

Scarborough Fair from A Quarter To Tea. . . .

Every single time I am on the A Quarter to Tea website, the name “Scarborough Fair” catches my eye. Every. Single. Time. I have no idea why or what I am always expecting but the name always pulls me in. I keep thinking it is like a berry tea or something like that and I want it but then I click on the page and read the description which calls it “fruity” and “herbaceous”. If you know that there’s always money in the banana stand, you’ll likely understand this tea. If you don’t? I mean, it’s still a delicious chocolate-banana-graham tea, but you’re probably gonna be a little weirded out by the name. I’ll be honest: though so many of my fellow Sororitea Sister have proclaimed their love for banana teas, I’ve been skeptical. I like bananas. I don’t OMG LOVE them. I really like frozen, chocolate dipped bananas– does that count? But I am decidedly NOT a fan of fake banana flavor– banana runts? No thanks. Banana gum? Gag. So you can bet Read More

Cranberry Basil Spritz from A Quarter To Tea. . . .

There’s something magical about unusually flavored teas– my brain has no concept for what they *should* taste like, so each sip (especially the first) is like an awakening. A little party in my mouth, if you will. This blend came with a recent summer tea of the month club order, and let me say– I was a little dubious at first. Not necessarily of the cranberry/basil blend, which sounds, frankly, like a tasty sangria treat, if anything. No, but of the tiny note at the end of the description: flavored with cream. Cream? Here I was, going down the route Read More

Chocolate Zucchini Bread from A Quarter To Tea. . . . .

Most summers growing up were spent helping my mom tend to our vegetable garden. Beaming proudly at my over-run chives, measuring my height by the sunflowers, plucking tomatoes from the vine and popping them into bowls with a hefty sprinkle of salt, warm from the sun. But nothing was more ubiquitous than our zucchini plants. Come late summer, we were literally swimming in zucchini. Try as she might, my mom could hardly keep up with our producing plants, and was finding every possible way to work them into our daily repertoire. Who knew all she needed to do was turn Read More
