marshmallow krispytreat

My Favorite After-School Special: Marshmallow Krispy Treat from The Necessiteas

The Marshmallow Krispy Treat, the staple of after school snacking or easy, no-bake sweet treats.  And now, we can taste this simple dessert in tea form.  This blend uses a black tea base sweetened up with mini marshmallows and puffed rice cereal pieces.  The dry leaf smells sweet and buttery like the crispy breakfast cereal. When brewed, the blend tastes more caramel than marshmallow.  This tea is best with a bit of milk to pump of the mini marshmallow sweetness, otherwise the black tea base takes over the other flavors.  This is a tasty blend, but it doesn’t quite match Read More

earlgrey

Earl Grey Le Creme from The NecessiTeas. . . . .

I’m not normally a bergamot fan, but my high school partner-in-crime, code-named Tiny Salutations is, so welcome her along on today’s adventure! This is a delightful blend that ignites the romance at first sight, and pictures don’t do it justice. Beautiful blue corn flowers are sprinkled throughout, which is a special flower that she would grow and send to husband back when they first dated. She says she’s kind of in love with this tea before even drinking it. The dry leaves need to be cross-marketed as an air freshener! The corn flowers float to the top as it Read More

MyMorningBlend

My Morning Blend from The NecessiTeas. . . .

My Morning Blend by The NecessiTEAs is a strong and robust blend of black tea and cocoa beans. It is very bold and slightly bitter, so I added agave to tone it down a bit. That helped, but the flavors of the black tea and cocoa beans are still overpowering the agave. It smells strongly of black tea with a tiny hint of chocolate. The cocoa definitely comes out more once it’s steeped, but the main flavor is bold black tea. Although this is not quite my “cup of tea”, I think it would be a great, tasty, energizing blend Read More

strawberry shortcake

Strawberry Shortcake from The NecessiTeas. . . .

This tea isn’t so much strawberry shortcake the food, but Strawberry Shortcake the character. It is so cute. It’s sweet and tiny and a little bit of strawberry for flavor/excitement. There’s a green base to this, yes, but it’s subtle, in the background. Because green’s good for you, it adds to the wholesome vibe of this tea. It’s a GREAT intro-tea. I’d hook a n00b up with this any time to give them an idea of what’s possible in teas besides earl grey or chamomile. This is a tea you totally could give a kid. Maybe not right next to Read More

aloha

Aloha from The NecessiTeas. . . .

If you were to judge me by my kitchen alone (which, wait– don’t look under the fridge. I’ve literally never cleaned down there. WHOOPS.), you’d probably call me a bit of a coconut fanatic. I never liked coconut flavors as a kiddo, but as I grew (and my food allergy list grew along with me), coconut began finding its way into my kitchen via any manner of ingredients– shredded, as flour, as milk, as a replacement for soy sauce (yup, that’s a thing that exists), as treats– and definitely in tea! This blend from the Necessiteas claims to be a Read More
