I’ve had this little sample tea hanging around for a while and haven’t really known when to drink it! Should I save it for a holiday or maybe the winter time? I know it’s typically an Easter tea, but there are things in this blend that makes me think of winter… cinnamon, cranberry, vanilla. The scent of this tea reminds me of a holiday candle. I pick up on a heavy flash of cinnamon and something baked and specked with cranberries in the background.
Sipping… I don’t think that I like this all that much. The strongest flavor I’m tasting is of a watery cinnamon and smoke. I will say that I’m probably not the right person to be reviewing this tea as I’m not too terribly fond of cinnamon flavors in tea, but I can usually handle it when it’s mixed with something else. Yep.. I really just taste cinnamon water. I can maybe taste some of the cranberry at the front of the sip if I am really looking for it. The aftertaste is where the “bun” flavor arrives.. it’s sweet and a little bready, but isn’t obvious.
I’m disappointed in this blend, but still love Bluebird Tea Co as they have so many other blends that I adore. I would recommend this tea for those who love a tea that is heavy on the cinnamon and without caffeine!
