On the Eighth Day of Christmas, Della Terra Teas Sent To Me…

Day8-1Usually, I like to start these 12 Days of Christmas Teas reviews with a little bit of chatter.  However, today’s tea is really something I’ve been waiting for since I started in on the box.  I kept hoping that this tea would be in this box, and now that it’s here, I can’t wait any longer … so enough of the chit-chat!

On the Eighth Day of Christmas, Della Terra Teas sent me this tea:

Taster’s Review:

This is it!  This is the tea I was HOPING would be in this box.  It was taking almost every ounce of willpower I had to keep from ordering this tea, because it was receiving such high praise on Steepster, I really wanted to see if it was as good as everyone was making it out to be.  And as I don’t have a lot of willpower as it is when it comes to tea, let me just say that it was extraordinarily difficult to NOT order this tea and be patient and wait to see if it was in my box.

eightcandlesAnd here it is, Yay!

And Oh.My.Gawd!  It is good!  Yummy yum yum!

I’ve tried a few teas with marshmallows in them, and I’ve enjoyed most if not all that I’ve tried.  I can’t think of one that I didn’t like … but, this one … this one is the BEST one yet.  This really tastes like marshmallow.  While sipping this, I experience that joyful feeling that as a kid I would have experienced when eating marshmallows.

My favorite marshmallow maker is 240Sweet (and trust me, you should try their marshmallows, they are heavenly), and this cup of tea is a bit like 240Sweet in my teacup … except, this doesn’t have some of those really exotic flavors.  This doesn’t taste like Avocado and Lime.  Or like Sweet Potato and Ginger.   This just tastes like sweet, fluffy marshmallows with a drizzle of caramel … these would be more like the Salted Caramel Swirl Marshmallow from 240Sweet, minus the salt.

The black tea can also be tasted here, but, I also have to admit that I didn’t even think about the black tea until I was nearly finished with the cup.  I was too wrapped up in marshmallow bliss.  The black tea is delicious, and melds together with the flavors of marshmallow and caramel very seamlessly.

What I’m liking best about this cup, and this is something I only just thought of as I sit here considering the flavors that are dancing in my mouth … the burnt-sugar taste of the caramel gives the marshmallow-y notes a sort of toasted taste.  This tastes like liquified roasted marshmallows!

If you don’t like sweet tasting teas, this tea is not for you.  But if you love the flavor of roasted marshmallows … then, you’re going to love this tea.

Anne (aka the Mad Tea Artist) has celebrated her 29th birthday for many years now. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her hubby and her youngest daughter. Her oldest daughter is married and has bestowed Anne with the proud title of "Gramma" and her grandson is about the cutest boy you ever did see.

Anne started her journey with tea as a casual drinker and became more serious about her tea drinking when she realized that she couldn't drink coffee. Shortly thereafter, she started becoming obsessed with the beverage and she started creating small-batch, artisan blends of tea that she sold online as LiberTEAS. After a few years, she realized she wasn't cut out to be the sole proprietor of a business so she closed LiberTEAS and started reviewing teas online. She met Jennifer through another blog that they both reviewed for and they decided to start their own review blog. This review blog!

Throughout her journey as a tea reviewer, she discovered 52Teas and became enamored with the idea of creating a new tea every week. When the founder of 52Teas decided he wanted to move on, he offered the business to Anne but knowing that she wasn't cut out to be a sole proprietor, she instead offered the company to her oldest daughter who employs her as the Mad Tea Artist for 52Teas!
